Introducing the HeroFilter 100% blue light blocking glasses
In short
Blue light tells your body it is daytime, and green plays a part too. Most blue-light glasses only reduce the blue, which is why you can still see blue through them. HeroFilter™ blocks blue and green completely.
Wear them for the last hour before bed, or whenever you are on a screen after sunset. They fit over most prescription glasses.
Key takeaways
- Blue light signals daytime to the body and green contributes too; HeroFilter™ removes both (100% of blue, 99.99% of green).Read this section: What HeroFilter™ blocks
- Coated prescription lenses let most blue through - if you can still see blue, the lens is reducing it, not blocking it.Read this section: Why coated prescription lenses are not the same
- Put them on about an hour before bed, or whenever screens are on after sunset.Read this section: How to use them
Blue light, and green light too
You probably know blue light can disrupt your circadian rhythm and sleep by tricking your brain into thinking it’s day time, but did you know green light - while not as detrimental - also contributes to these problems?
What HeroFilter™ blocks
As a solution to those of you using screens in the evening, we added the HeroFilter to our store.
The HeroFilter blocks 100% of blue light and 99.99% of green light to help you optimize your circadian rhythm and sleep quality.
Why coated prescription lenses are not the same
Some of you might have blue light blocking prescription glasses however these are not the same - have you ever noticed you can still see the colour blue when wearing them? This is because they only block about 20% of blue light which is silly because during the day you want blue light; as we said at the beginning of this post it signals to your body that it’s day time, and during the evening this still means you’re exposed to 80% of it.
How to use them
Using the HeroFilter is easy, start wearing them around an hour before bed or anytime you're using screens after sunset.
They can expand in size and fit over most pairs of prescription glasses
They also come with a carrying case, cleaning cloth and 1 year warranty for manufacturing defects
Be wary of very cheap options because chances are the lenses won’t actually blocking 100% of blue light and will still allow lots of green light through.
